Dr. Reza Aran is a certified specialist in orthodontics and a fellow of The College of Dental Surgeons of Canada. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgeon (D.D.S) from the University of Shiraz in Iran, his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D) with honors and Master of Craniofacial Science and specialty degree in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics from UBC.

His experience in preventive, restorative and cosmetic dentistry built a strong foundation in his approach to offer a healthy, functional, and aesthetic bite and smile for his orthodontic patients.

Dr. Deljoui has been providing high quality dentistry to his appreciative and loyal patients for over 13 years. After graduating dental school and building his own dental practice in Iran, Dr. Deljoui decided to move to Canada. In 2007, he was rewarded his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from UBC and immediately opened his own dental practice in Burnaby, BC.

Dr. Deljoui loves dentistry and spends a lot of time educating his patients on the modern solutions that are available to them. Because of his dedication and thorough work, many new patients come to Metroplex Dental because their friends or family have praised Dr. Deljoui’s patient care and expert dental work. Dr. Deljoui also teaches as an instructor at UBC on a part-time basis for 4th year dental students.

Dr. Amir Ajar graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) in Anatomy in 1991 and a Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) in 1995. Upon completion of his degree, Dr. Ajar focused on dental surgery and postgraduate training in hospital programs designed to improve his surgical skills. These involved rotations in departments of oral and maxillofacial surgery, anesthesiology, internal medicine, general surgery, emergency medicine, surgical intensive care and pain medicine.

Since moving to the Lower Mainland in 2004, his practice is limited specifically to dental surgery and implants using all forms of sedation. Dr. Ajar has lectured at the University of British Columbia, University of Alberta, University of Calgary and McGill University. He currently serves as an instructor at the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC, and holds memberships in the American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists.

Dr. Sungwon Kim received her Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree from the University of British Columbia. Dr. Kim enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and focuses on providing quality dental care in a comfortable environment for all her patients. Dr. Kim stays updated with current dental knowledge by participating in various continuing education programs.

Dr. Panasar grew up in Delta and has graduated with his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree (DMD) from the University of British Columbia. He is passionate about providing dental treatments that achieve long-term solutions while being mindful of his patients’ overall health and well-being. Dr. Panasar is known to be an excellent communicator and strives to exceed his patients’ expectations. Complementing his devotion to the practice of dentistry, Dr. Panasar is a proud member of both the Canadian Dental Association and the British Columbia Dental Association. In his spare time, Dr. Panasar enjoys spending time with his family and playing soccer and basketball. Playing sports has shaped Dr. Panasar’s work ethic as he is a team player offering great leadership and is more than comfortable working under pressure when necessary.

Dr. Ida Hooshmand graduated from the Maurice H. Kornberg School of Dentistry at Temple University in 2023. She is passionate about all aspects of general dentistry, with a particular focus on providing comfortable experiences and treating patients comprehensively.

Dr. Hooshmand grew up in the North Shore and completed a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology and Immunology at the University of British Columbia (UBC). During her four years in Philadelphia for dental school, she met her fiancé and was honored with several awards at graduation, including the Dean’s Award for Exemplary Care and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Award.

Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time with family and her dog, Pasha.

Dr. Matias Grimminck obtained his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Dental Surgery degrees from the University of Chile and practiced as a general dentist for seven years before he embarked on a postgraduate orthodontic program in Argentina.

After immigrating to Canada, he completed the Canadian NDEB Equivalency Process to become a licensed practitioner in 2012. He worked as a general dentist, providing dental care to the underprivileged population in the Downtown East-side. Dr. Matias completed the Orthodontic Specialty program at UBC in 2019, receiving a Master of Science degree and becoming a Certified Specialist in Orthodontics.

As a former Clinical Assistant Professor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry, Dr. Matias mentored and evaluated undergraduate and graduate students in the General Practitioner Program. He has also delivered lectures to graduate Orthodontic and Pediatric Dentistry Programs in Chile and Argentina.

Dr. Matias is an active member of the Canadian Association of Orthodontics, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Canadian Dental Association, and the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontics. He is also a diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, an honor granted to specialists who voluntarily write and pass a series of comprehensive examinations that represent a personal and public commitment to the standard of practice and lifelong learning.

Dr. Matias is trained in orthodontic technologies and has robust knowledge in recommending orthodontic treatment that is well-suited to his patient’s needs, including improving facial appearance, self-esteem, and overall oral health.

In his spare time, Dr. Matias enjoys long walks, hiking, biking, and spending time connecting with nature throughout the Pacific Coast.
